Editor review
Dial Sigma is a cipher-style word puzzle with daily and freeplay modes. The daily resets at midnight local time. The freeplay queue is endless. The format is familiar from other word-puzzle titles, and what differentiates this one is the frequency table at the bottom of the screen.
The frequency table acts as a tiered hint. New players use it heavily; experienced players check it once. That spread makes the format work across skill bands, which is rare for cipher games. Daily streaks save across sessions and the hint tokens regenerate hourly.
I played the daily for two weeks and a handful of freeplay boards on a Warsaw Warsaw metro commute. The format suits the commute length; each board runs around six to twelve minutes.
The flaw is the dictionary. The word list is large but a few uncommon British-English spellings produced no-match errors on the puzzles I worked through. A localisation toggle would solve this. Two-and-a-half stars; the core format is fine and the dictionary issue is real for non-US players.
